Art can be as much a part of social change as it wants to be. Beatriz Chachamovits devises strategies to promote conservancy of ocean ecosystems, and does so through sculpture, drawings and installations. Chachamovits is Brazilian, which is where she studied art. Her work, however, has not only been exhibited there, but also in Florida, another hub of marine conservation. As a marine researcher, she is well aware of the damage that humanity has done to submarine life, and especially to coral reefs. Her efforts are put into making scientific research more appealing and understandable to the public through her artistic pieces.
