When reading about the contemporary art scene in Argentina, and particularly about ceramics, it’s almost impossible not to run into Eugenia Bracony’s name. Born in Sweden from Argentinian parents, she grew up in Paraná. Since studying ceramics, she has dedicated herself to this art form and currently resides in Buenos Aires, where she is a professor on it and manufactures domestic ceramic items. Bracony’s art style highlights the empty space in her pieces. It shows that the emptiness isn’t only fundamental for the shapes to exist as they do, but that the void isn't immaterial. Her prolificacy has obtained her numerous awards, as well as residencies and exhibitions abroad in Germany and Spain.
