B. 1991
In her drawings and paintings, as well as in her soft sculptures and textile installations, Spahn presents us with an original vision that combines weightless shapes and frayed, worn-out textures. This “sensitive geometry” both displays and embodies the tension between the stationary and the transient, recovering the fleeting traces of time flowing through the everyday lives of people and things [objects]. Born in Paraná, Entre Ríos, Karen Spahn has a degree in Visual Arts from FHAYCS, UADER, where she works as a teacher and researcher. She is part of the “Transparenta” artistic collective; she currently works at the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts “Dr. Pedro E. Martínez,” where she carries out research and teaching activities. She has obtained several Municipal and Provincial awards for her visual and textile art.
