In 1996, Pedro Lievendag, Holocaust Survivor, was interviewed as one of 52.000 video testimonies for the Shoah Visual History Foundation Library.

Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation was founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, who - after completing "Schindler's List" - was inspired by the goal of capturing firsthand filmed testimonies of Holocaust survivors before their stories would be lost forever.

In 1941, Pedro Lievendag and his family managed to escape Nazi Germany to find refuge in a Shanghai Ghetto alongside 20,000 Jews and other refugees. 60 Years after leaving the Ghetto as U.N.R.R.A. Displaced Persons, Pedro's daughter, Marlene, produced and directed the documentary feature 818 TONG SHAN ROAD. The film is a testimony of the trip they made together back to Shanghai, where they were able to visit the Ghetto and reencounter the story that marked the destiny of the Lievendag family.

In concordance with USA for UNHCR and the support of The German Consulate of Germany in Miami to promote and create awareness of the Refugee Cause, 818 TONG SHAN ROAD TEAM organized a Film Screening/Event to mark WORLD REFUGEE DAY 2007, for the first time in Miami, Florida U.S.A.
