RÍA
Environments and Materialities of Artistic Visual Processes that Seek to Inhabit the Territory. Artwork clinic led by Diana Campos - La Portland
Ría is a Clinic project designed for artworks and artistic visual projects, aimed at visual artists, managers, and curators who wish to create a horizontal space to address the sensitive constructions encompassed by their works and/or projects, allowing them to be received by the territory.
Paddling collectively, we will revisit the poetics revealed by contemporary visual practices. Through exploration, experience, listening, exchange, and drifting, we will dive into the depths of analysis and the questioning of latent visual narratives present in the proposed works and projects.
The goal is to transcribe into these works the keys revealed by the territory and its interdependent consciousnesses, re-inhabiting, expanding, and culturally narrating it. Immersed in our own bed, recognizing the essences exhaled by our littoral, this ría flows into an open channel that enables us to unsettle perspectives and displace bodies from territorial representations already worn out by the context.
The project includes a total of 6 sessions:
4 in-person sessions: Saturdays, April 6, May 4, June 8, and July 6, 2024, from 2 to 6 PM at Galería La Portland.
Each in-person session will feature distinct dynamics tailored to the works and/or projects under review in the clinic (drifting, laboratory, practice and exploration workshops, cartography-writing, intervention-mediation, perceptual thresholds, somatic listening and interpretation, among others). These activities aim to provide conceptual and perceptual tools necessary for the critical formulation and analytical approach to visual artistic practices, processes, and actions.
2 virtual sessions: August and September 2024.
These will be held in small groups to provide tutoring for projects in their final stages.
