The Destiny of Images
Inés Marcó Fran Vásquez Curator: Inés Raiteri At La Portland. From July 22, 2023, to September 25, 2023
When I first encountered the work of Inés and Francisco, Francisco and Inés, their universes revealed to me the invisible within the visible. They create there, in the ebb and flow, in the recurrence, mixing planes of relationship, seeking simultaneity, inquiring, recovering, investigating, and presenting the here and now, along with its possible transformations.
While the expressions in their works emerge after a detailed and rigorous process, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the magnetic pull of childhood, that time and feeling in which all these movements seem possible, manifesting through the impact that both have always incorporated into their work. Childhood as the possible space to experience, doubt, create, err, and also as the empty space to allow oneself to be impregnated by all the new records the self explores.
And there is a place in the incandescent memory of that free, autonomous gaze, open to the world, creating essential relationships with words, reconstructing the magical animist pact, showing how that non-evident moment awakens in them, which constitutes them as observers of their surroundings, inviting us to follow them.
Inés finds, in the body and its actions, unpredictable and unprecedented visions of reality, deforming the material statutes and semantics of structures, turning towards the ideas of space, color, movement, and surface.
